One day you decide it is time to die so you crawl back inside your mother. And another day you awake screaming for the first time into a world where everyone curses your name.
And that name is Krampus. (Sorry, this story actually isn’t about you.)
Krampus, the baby killer. The Christmas Ghoul. The horrendous punisher who will destroy you for the exact same things your society considers taboo despite only participating in your culture for a brief time every year. An Omniscient entity that just so happens to agree with all the authority figures around you.
This is not He.
We cursed and spat on the name of this creature who was just a mere child born into a world that was just about to end. The memory of what caused that end faded more each time someone would tell him of the horrors he hasn’t quite committed.
Was it destiny that led him to fulfill these horrors, or was it the trauma of never being assumed innocent.
Dear reader, I regret to inform you that the stories of woe you know, that killer, its all true.
He was.
He killed his own sister, yes that very same Jesus of Christmas time. He did not know what death was. His own sister wasn’t even in his life until after he killed her. It was a freak accident. Yet Jesus was the martyr.
Jesus’s death, demarcated the end of innocence for Our Old Father Krampus. This innocent child had become the one and only Daddy Punishment. Demolisher of Abusers. Clown Guardian of Revenge. Victims' Hindsight allows Daddy Punishment to execute swiftly and without judgement. He will never not believe you, for he is the Clown Guardian of Delirium. The Father of Psychosis. He understands what cannot be understood. He is the gift and giver of Hindsight.
Hindsight or Behindsight thrives in the shadow dimension(?) every third shadow tree hosts behindsight berries. These fruits and the shadow people that harvest them assist Daddy Punishment on his missions to excavate the truth of the memories of the realities of the psychotic children’s dreams he slips in and out of. The shadows understand the delirium, they are also not bound by corporeal Time.
Eon by Eon Daddy Punishment approaches the beginning of this multiverse and the knowledge that he will die and after all this time he simply loses interest in revenge. In shock comedy. In the dull banality of the mainstream darkness. And simply Doesn’t.
As Krampus Doesn’t he disintegrates into the very Shadows that he calls friends and reemerges as Pan-Krampus. The loving father. For these simpler entities do not know his crimes. He is met with open arms. When no one has lived your past, there can be true forgiveness. True redemption.
And as the beginning of the universe approaches, the small child thrust into the chaos of a dying world finally knows peace. And that journey for peace brought him to the same place it brings many of us to the feet of Mary the Virgin Clown who goes Around and Around and Up and Down.
He can hear the HONK.
The Great Honking itself.
As he slowly savors the last sensations of his mother’s legs and he crawls towards her warm cave. And as he nestles safely inside, all he can hear is the guttural breath of the inhalation of the Primordial H. And then -
